Drum Making Workshop

Shaman Drums

In this workshop you will build a 14" octagonal drum which Grandfather Stalking Wolf called a Shaman Drum.
The Friday evening class which starts at 7 PM will include instructions on how to make your drum and the preparation of the hide and lacing for covering the drum. Everyone is welcome to camp over for the night and we will get an early start on Saturday morning.
Saturday will start with the soaking of the hides and a potluck breakfast. While the hides are soaking you will learn the significance of the eight sides of the drum and prepare the drumsticks. When these teachings are complete you will begin to assemble your drum.
